British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Saturday that British planes "are in the sky today" in the Middle East. He went on to specify that the aircraft were lifted as "part of co-ordinated regional defensive operations to protect our people, our interests and our allies."
Starmer, who previously held an emergency meeting on the conflict in the region, added that efforts are being made to reach out to UK nationals in the region and to support them. The UK previously issued a joint statement with France and Germany claiming they did not participate in US and Israeli strikes against Iran.
