A drone likely launched by Iran's proxy groups based in Iraq hit Kuwait International Airport on Saturday, according to the General Authority of Civil Aviation's spokesperson, Abdullah al-Rajhi.
The spokesman said that the attack caused "minor injuries" to several employees and "limited material damage" to the passenger building. He stressed that the authorities initiated "approved emergency procedures, where the incident was handled, and the site was secured."
Tensions in the Middle East escalated after the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran, which shortly responded by attacking countries hosting US military bases across the region.
