Nvidia Corp. plans to introduce a new processor aimed at speeding up AI responses and reshaping its product lineup, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the plans.
The chipmaker is building a system focused on "inference" computing, which allows AI models to handle requests by rapidly processing pre-filled data and generating responses. The platform is set for unveiling at Nvidia's GTC conference in San Jose next month and will reportedly include a chip designed by startup Groq.
OpenAI has agreed to become one of the largest buyers of the processor, according to the report.
