Indian trade negotiators postponed their visit to Washington DC after the United States Supreme Court's ruling that President Donald Trump's tariff policy is illegal, CNBC reported on Sunday, citing a person familiar with the matter.
"The meeting will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient date .. after each side has had the time to evaluate the latest developments and their implications," the source reportedly told the outlet. India's chief negotiator Darpan Jain was supposed to start a three-day meeting later this week.
In response to the Supreme Court's decision, Trump imposed a 10% global tariff, later raising it to 15%.
