Crude oil prices plummeted over 13% on Monday after US President Donald Trump signalled a pause in strikes on Iran following productive conversations with Tehran. His comments come as he backtracked on a 48-hour ultimatum given to Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz or face destruction of its power plants, a deadline he established only two days prior.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in May decreased by 10% to go for $85.06 per barrel at 7:15 pm ET. Meanwhile, Brent for the same month's deliveries dropped by 13.17% and went for $96.37 per barrel.
