US President Donald Trump suggested on Monday the US could replicate its Venezuela strategy in Iran, describing it as a form of "serious regime change."
Trump added that he is dealing with Iranian figures he finds "very reasonable, very solid." He suggested one of them "will be exactly what we're looking for."
Trump pointed to Venezuela as an example: "Look at Venezuela, how well that's working out. We are doing so well in Venezuela with oil and with the relationship between the president-elect and us. And maybe we find somebody like that in Iran."
