Oman's Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a firm call on Thursday for the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to "fulfill its responsibilities and take what is necessary to stop this war." In an official statement, the ministry expressed condemnation of the attacks targeting energy facilities in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, as well as other attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.
Affirming "the necessity of adhering to international laws and norms," Oman urged all parties to prioritize "diplomatic solutions to address disputes." It also urged those attacking to "refrain from targeting civilian facilities and global energy supplies, calling for de-escalation and cessation of military operations."
This appeal comes after the UNSC adopted a resolution earlier in the month, presented by Bahrain on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council, demanding that Iran stop its attacks on Gulf nations.
