The United States House of Representatives approved on Thursday a Senate-passed bill that would fund most of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ending a 76-day shutdown, the longest partial shutdown in US history.
The bill funding the DHS, exempting ICE and border patrol, was passed via a voice vote, but without solving any of the policy disagreements that led to the record-breaking shutdown.
The measure, which will fully fund the Coast Guard, TSA, Secret Service, FEMA, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, along with other offices within DHS that don't deal with immigration enforcement, will now be sent to US President Donald Trump for signature.
