President Trump, first lady Melania Trump and his cabinet were evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington Saturday night after gunfire erupted.
The president is safe and will give a press conference around 10:15 p.m. after the Secret Service announced that the dinner was postponed.
The Secret Service swiftly secured the hotel as investigations continue into the incident.
The president was slated to join journalists and high-profile administration members for the annual bash, with Trump giving the traditional speech later in the evening.
