United States President Donald Trump said on Saturday that "we want to beat China" in the cryptocurrency race.
"It's a big industry. And we want to beat China at that industry," he told a reporter ahead of a Crypto Conference in Florida. "We're leading with crypto, we're leading with AI, and I really feel I have an obligation as the president, I have to make sure that all our industries do well," he added, arguing that crypto has "become mainstream."
"We're leading China by a lot in AI, and we're also leading in crypto," Trump repeated.
