Kremlin: Putin, Trump didn't discuss meeting with Zelensky

United States President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin did not discuss a potential meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a phone call over the weekend, Putin's Foreign Policy Assistant Yury Ushakov said on Tuesday.

"No, such a possibility was not discussed," Ushakov told reporters after Zelensky claimed he offered to meet with Putin in Washington in a phone conversation with Trump. The Russian official added that the Kremlin has not received any offer to organize the encounter between Putin and Zelensky in the US. "No one has approached us with such proposals yet. I've seen mentions of it in the media, but nothing more," he said.

Ushakov also noted that US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner could come to Moscow for talks on Ukraine following the official signing of the memorandum of understanding with Iran in Switzerland on Friday.
