Araghchi talks Hormuz security with Omani FM

 Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with his Omani counterpart, Badr al-Busaidi (pictured right), on Tuesday, during which they discussed restoring free passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a readout of the phone call by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the two diplomats underlined the need for ensuring maritime security in the region and maintaining diplomatic relations between Iran and the US. They also committed to complying with international law regarding the "safe and free" passage of vessels through the critical waterway, based on the recently signed agreement between Washington and Tehran.
