Costa: EU and UK to hold summit on July 22

 European Council President Antonio Costa announced on Tuesday that the European Union and the United Kingdom would hold a summit in Brussels on July 22.

Writing on X after a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the sidelines of the Group of Seven's (G7) summit, Costa stressed that "close EU–UK cooperation is essential for our shared European security, resilience, and prosperity."

Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that she and Starmer discussed the crises in the Middle East and Ukraine, as well as bilateral relations between Brussels and London.
