Oman has prepared a draft proposal that suggests that traffic in the Strait of Hormuz could be managed through two separately controlled routes, CNN reported on Saturday, citing a source familiar with the talks.
According to the report, the agreement has not yet been finalized, but it proposes that two corridors remain open: the Southern corridor through the Omani territorial waters and the Northern corridor through Iranian waters. The latter would require Iran's approval for passage, but it would be toll-free.
Meanwhile, the Omani state media outlet Oman News Agency reported that Oman and Iran agreed to continue their technical talks regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
