US gov't said to deploy over 100 agents to Minnesota

United States President Donald Trump's administration will deploy over 100 Customs and Border Protection agents and officers to Minnesota following the deadly incident that took place in Minneapolis recently, The New York Times reported on Thursday, citing documents it obtained. According to the documents, these individuals will halt their operations in Chicago and New Orleans to move to Minnesota.

While the Trump administration has been defending the actions of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer who killed a woman during an operation, Minnesota officials have been condemning their behavior, urging ICE to leave the state. Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) Superintendent Drew Evans revealed in a statement that the FBI would be leading the investigation, with the BCA "no longer hav[ing] access to the case materials, scene evidence or investigative interviews."
