United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer and United States President Donald Trump held a phone call on Thursday to discuss the Russian threat in the North Atlantic, Starmer's office said.
"The leaders discussed Euro-Atlantic security and agreed on the need to deter an increasingly aggressive Russia in the High North," according to the statement. Starmer also emphasized that the European allies "stepped up in recent months to defend Euro-Atlantic interests, but more could be done to protect the area."
The day before, the two leaders also held a phone call, in which they addressed the US efforts to seize the Russian oil tanker Marinera, as well as the Greenland issue.
