Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas slammed on Sunday the reform of policies toward the West Bank that the Israeli Security Cabinet approved earlier in the day.
Earlier in the day, the cabinet passed the decision to facilitate the appropriation of land to Israeli settlers, make parts of classified lands available for purchase, and allow the construction of Jewish places of worship in cities like Hebron, which Palestinians consider sacred.
In a statement shared with the Wafa news agency, Abbas rejected the move as "null and void, granting no legitimacy and [carrying] no legal consequences." He also urged the United States and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to intervene.
