Amazon shares sank ~10% after hours on Q4 EPS miss, aggressive capex ramp

 

(~$200B by 2026) and softer Q1 operating income guidance of $16.5–$21.5B; Q4 net sales rose 14% to $213.4B as AWS grew 24% with AI-driven investment and its custom-chip business topped $10B ARR, while the company recorded $2.4B in charges, appealed Germany’s marketplace price-cap ban with an initial €59M payment, and was downgraded to Neutral with a $175 PT by DA Davidson. A fresh filing also shows 2025 U.S. corporate taxes fell by more than half to $1.2B even as pretax U.S. profit rose 44.5% to $89.5B under the new Republican tax law.
