Hamas is in the "final stages" of choosing a new leader, a senior organization official told the AFP on Sunday.
"The movement has completed its internal elections in the three regions and has reached the final stage of selecting the head of the political bureau," he revealed. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) killed Hamas' leader Ismail Haniyeh in June 2024, later eliminating his successor Yahya Sinwar in October of the same year.
