Russian army intel deputy head shot in Moscow

 Russian Armed Forces Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff (GRU) First Deputy Chief, General Vladimir Alekseyev, has been shot and wounded in Moscow, the national Investigative Committee's (SKR) spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko told RIA Novosti on Friday.

According to Petrenko's statement, an individual shot at Alekseyev in front of a residential building on Volokolamskoe Highway in Moscow. The general was transported to a hospital.

Petrenko added that the shooter fled the scene and remains unknown. The relevant services are conducting an investigation, including reviewing nearby camera footage.
