Stocks rose while bonds fell alongside the dollar after the Supreme Court’s rejection of President Donald Trump’s global tariffs, with investors trying to figure out how much the ruling changes US trade policy.
Over 300 shares in the S&P 500 rose, with the gauge extending this week’s advance. The court said Trump exceeded his authority by invoking a federal emergency-powers law to impose “reciprocal” tariffs as well as targeted import taxes the administration says address fentanyl trafficking.
