US President Donald Trump pointed out on Friday that "other alternatives" will be used by his administration to replace tariffs rejected by the Supreme Court.
"Other alternatives will now be used to replace the ones the court incorrectly rejected ... Could be more money, we'll take in more money now," Trump elaborated, while adding that because of the court's decision, "the income coming in will actually increase."
The Republican president then listed his alternatives for replacing the levies, including the Tariff Act of 1930, Section 338, Sections 122, 201, and 301 of the 1974 Tarde Act, which permits a temporary, universal tariff of up to 15%, and Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, which was previously used against China to target nations for unfair trade practices.
