'UK insists on 'privileged position' after US tariff ruling'

The United Kingdom government said on Friday it expects its "privileged trading position" with the United States to continue after the Supreme Court overturned President Donald Trump's emergency tariffs.

"The UK government is working with the US to understand how the overturning of Donald Trump's tariffs by the Supreme Court will affect the UK, but expects our privileged trading position with the US to continue," a spokesperson for 10 Downing Street said. UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper is due to meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio later in the day, with trade implications likely on the agenda, according to Sky News.

Meanwhile, the European Union said it is "carefully" analyzing the ruling.
