Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky detailed in a statement on Sunday that the first tranche of the European Union loan worth €90 billion would be "directed toward domestic production for Ukraine's defense," which includes drones and the whole miltech sector.
He added that the portion of the fund, more specifically "several billion," will be specifically dedicated to protecting the energy sector. Continuing on the same topic, Ukraine's head of state mentioned that "a number of agreements" have also been made with the Middle Eastern partners, especially when it comes to diesel.
