Peskov: Russia, China near Power of Siberia 2 deal

 Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Russia and China are generally aligned on the key terms of the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline project following talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

"The President said during negotiations today that, overall, the basic parameters of understanding regarding the Power of Siberia and the 2 pipeline exist. This includes both the route and the construction method," Peskov told reporters. He noted that "some nuances remain to be ironed out, but overall, such an understanding already exists."

Earlier, Putin said Russia is ready to provide fuel to "rapidly growing Chinese markets" and ensure uninterrupted supplies of oil, natural gas, and coal to China. Separately, Peskov confirmed Putin is prepared to attend the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China, with the Russian president's meeting schedule to be finalized later.
