Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said European Union membership is not a priority for Turkey, arguing that Europe would ultimately "lose" from keeping Ankara outside the bloc.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Erdogan said Europe does not appear "willing" to admit Turkey to the EU.
On Gaza, Erdogan said Turkey would continue supporting the Palestinian territory, adding that Ankara would do everything necessary to help. He said Hamas has been honoring its commitments, while Israel continues its war in Gaza.
