United States President Donald Trump signed a proclamation imposing a 15% tariff on downstream products derived from polysilicon, a material used in semiconductors and solar panels.
The proclamation also sets minimum import prices of $21 per kilogram for polysilicon, $100 per kilogram for polysilicon ingots and wafers, $0.22 per watt for solar cells and $0.38 per watt for solar modules.
The measures, which aim to "revitalize the United States polysilicon sector," take effect on December 4, according to a White House fact sheet.
