An unidentified drone entered Bulgarian airspace and exploded near an international gas pipeline near the Romanian border, Bulgaria's Prime Minister Rumen Radev said on Saturday.
The incident occurred at 5 am, local time, with the drone entering without being identified by Romania and detonating about 100 meters inside Bulgarian territory. "There are no casualties or damage to buildings. The area has been cordoned off. We continue to monitor the situation," Radev said after an emergency government meeting.
Bulgarian authorities announced they would redeploy anti-drone capabilities from the Turkish to the Romanian border, and strengthen police presence.
