The prices of natural gas in Europe grew on Wednesday as traders digested the latest attacks exchanged between the United States and Iran, with uncertainty over the Strait of Hormuz bolstering supply concerns and weighing on investor sentiment.
For October contracts, Dutch TTF natural gas futures rose by 1.77% to €73.495 per megawatt hour at 9:53 am CET, hours after reaching €75.325 per megawatt hour, the highest level since January 2023. For the same month's deliveries, the UK natural gas futures climbed by 1.32% to 180.7 pence per therm at 9:57 am CET, shortly after hitting a three-year high of 184.11 pence per therm at 8:55 am CET.
