'NBC: Iranian hackers said to target US infrastructure'

 Iranian hackers have attempted cyberattacks against water, telecommunications, energy and other infrastructure in the United States in recent weeks, NBC News reported on Wednesday. According to people familiar with the matter, the attacks have so far been "technically unsophisticated" and unsuccessful.

One of the sources added that malicious actors use artificial intelligence in cyberattacks, which has made locating and hacking infrastructure systems accessible to "novice hackers." The report cited the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency as saying that it identified attacks against over 100 water and wastewater entities in July.
