US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned Wednesday that Washington would sanction those continuing to support the Iranian government, following new US sanctions targeting an India-based network accused of facilitating Tehran's shadow fleet operations.
“As we have said many times, under Operation Economic Outcast, you are either with us or against us,” Bessent wrote in a post on X.
“We know where you are, and we will sanction those who continue supporting the Iranian regime, whether by land, sea, or air,” he added.
The US Treasury Department added five individuals and 10 companies to its Iran-related sanctions list Wednesday, targeting a network of businesses and individuals primarily based in India, along with entities in Turkey and Singapore.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated four Indian nationals, including Suniel Kumar Sharma and Jaspreet Preeti Shahid, as well as Russian-Tajik national Alisher Domullodzhanov.
The sanctioned companies include India-based Aryavart Ship Management, Polynesia Maritime and several other maritime-related businesses, Singapore-based Eswatini Maritime Affairs and International Ship Registry, and Turkey's Fugo Ground Services, also known as Fugo Aviation.
