A poster promoting a rally in Tehran on Wednesday to commemorate the 1979 takeover of the US embassy features an explicit threat against US President Donald Trump, declaring, “We will kill Trump,” in Persian and English.
The poster depicts Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US Vice President JD Vance and US envoy Steve Witkoff in torn, burning suits, against a backdrop of American and Israeli flags engulfed in flames.
It advertises a gathering at Tehran's Enghelab Square at 8 p.m. Wednesday, where participants are expected to burn images of what the poster calls “American criminals.”
The event marks November 4, the anniversary of the 1979 seizure of the US Embassy in Tehran, during which 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days.
