Plane flying from London diverted after bomb threat

 Wizz Air announced on Monday that its passenger flight from London to Sofia had been diverted earlier in the day to Budapest due to a bomb threat.

Wizz Air said in a statement that the plane landed safely at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, after which necessary security checks were performed. "Wizz Air is cooperating fully with the authorities. The safety of passengers and crew remains our highest priority," the company said.

Meanwhile, Hungarian Defense Minister Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi confirmed that a fighter jet was sent to escort the plane as it landed in Budapest. He said police have joined the investigation.
