Hamas-Qatari plot to sabotage Trump’s ‘deal of the century’ peace plan uncovered by IDF in Gaza

Documents found by the Israel Defense Forces in Gaza show Qatari officials and leaders of Hamas plotting to scuttle President Trump’s “deal of the century” to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during his first administration, according to a report.

The documents apparently show leaders of Qatar and the terror group discussing ways to thwart the peace plan as well as efforts to have Arab countries, such as Saudi Arabia, normalize relations with Israel, according to Israel’s Channel 12.

The documents cite an emergency meeting in June 2019 between Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Hamas leaders including Khaled Mashal, former chair of the Hamas Political Bureau.

Trump’s “deal of the century” was supposed to end the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians when it was announced in January 2020, but according to leaked documents found by IDF soldiers in Gaza, the plan was nixed by Hamas working through Qatari mediators.EPA

“We must work together to oppose and eliminate the ‘deal of the century,’ ” Mashal said, according to the documents.

Six months later, Qatar’s then-foreign minister Mahammed bin Hamad al Thani, speaking to a Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh, noted “the Qatari grants are Hamas’s main artery,” referring to cash doled out to the terror group — whose members killed 1,200 Israelis during the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Haniyeh, head of the Hamas Political Bureau, was assassinated last year in Tehran, where he was attending the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

His remains were taken to Qatar, where they were buried in Lusail, the country’s second-largest city.

Former Hamas Prime Minster Ismail Haniyeh called cash grants from Qatar “the main artery” of the Hamas terrorism network in documents that were leaked to Israel’s Channel 12.AP

In addition, the documents reportedly include correspondence showing Hamas worked to sideline Egypt’s diplomatic efforts in Gaza, and replace it with Qatar.

“The Egyptians were attempting to restrain the escalation and we caused them to leave the picture with empty hands,” said Yahya Sinwar in May 2021, when he was the leader of Hamas in Gaza. “In their place, the Qataris came, and we gave them an opportunity to dictate the fruits of diplomacy.”

Sinwar was killed in October 2024 during fighting by the IDF.

The documents also reportedly reveal messages from Mashal thanking the Qataris for sending the Hamas leadership to Iran for the funeral of terrorist Qasem Soleimani, on January 7, 2020.

Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike near Baghdad International Airport on January 3.

“Thank you to Qatari brothers who agreed to fly us,” reads the note from Haniyeh to the Qatari leadership.

In a press release, the Qatari government called the documents, which The Post has not been able to independently verify, “fabricated.”

They claimed they had been circulated in the Israeli media “in an attempt to sow tension and division between Qatar and the United States at a crucial stage in our efforts to mediate a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.”

The country’s International Media Office said in a June 10 press release the tactic had previously been used “by those who want diplomacy to fail.”

The White House did not return an email seeking comment. A spokesman for Hamas refused comment.

In January 2020, Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unveiled a deal for a two-state peace plan between Israel and the Palestinians.

The plan, “Peace to Prosperity: A Vision to Improve the Lives of the Palestinian and Israeli People,” called for the creation of a State of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem.

As part of the deal, Sinwar was offered $10 billion and for Gaza to be recognized as Palestine and Hamas-led in exchange for “forgetting about” the West Bank and other territory. Sinwar rejected the offer, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

The deal ceded major settlements in the West Bank to Israeli sovereignty and called for a four-year freeze on new Israeli settlement construction.

Qatar has had a long association with Hamas, which was designated a terror group by the US in 1997. Qatar’s current defense minister, Sa’oud Aal Thani, posted tweets in 2014 backing the group during a round of fighting between Israel and Hamas in the summer of 2014.

“We are all Hamas,” he posted, according to the MEMRI.

A spokesman for the IDF declined to say when the trove of documents was found in Gaza.

Mike Bloomberg endorses Andrew Cuomo in NYC mayoral race

Former Mayor Mike Bloomberg is endorsing Andrew Cuomo in the New York City Democratic primary, saying the ex-governor is best equipped to run the Big Apple.

“I care deeply about the future of our city, and since leaving office, it has been difficult to watch its struggles, especially since the pandemic,” the former-three-term mayor said Tuesday.

“In sizing up the field in the race for mayor, there is one candidate whose management experience and government know-how stand above the others: Andrew Cuomo.”

The billionaire business mogul said he had differences with Cuomo when the two served as mayor and governor, respectively.

“But I also know his strengths as a leader and manager. Of all the candidates, Andrew has the skills our city needs to lead us forward,” Bloomberg said.

Bloomberg did not mention any of Cuomo’s rivals, particularly Democratic socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani.

But sources close to Bloomberg said he doesn’t want an anti-capitalist tax hiker and foe of Israel running City Hall.

He credited Cuomo with getting “big things done,’ citing the redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport, the opening of the 2nd Avenue Subway and creation of Moynihan Station — “All long-stalled projects that he jump-started and completed.”

Cuomo’s biggest competitor, Dem Socialist Zohran Mamdani, has recently been endorsed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.Pool/ABACA/Shutterstock

“He has decades of experience navigating state and federal governments. He has governed as a pragmatist, focused on solving problems rather than engaging in ideological or partisan warfare,” Bloomberg said of Cuomo.

“The question before New Yorkers is not: Who is the perfect choice? No mayor is perfect. The question is: Who is the best choice? To me, that choice is clear: Andrew Cuomo.”

The endorsement comes after Bloomberg’s top allies have poured money into Cuomo’s campaign.

Ed Skyler, a former deputy mayor to Bloomberg who is now a top executive at Citigroup, recently donated $400 — the maximum allowed under restrictions for employees of a firm that does business with city government.

He told a former colleague that he would have stayed out of the race, if not for polls showing Mamdani closing in on Cuomo in the June 24 Democratic primary.

A recent poll conducted for pro-Mamdani groups by the left-wing think tank Data for Progress showed the gap between the rivals narrowing to 51% to 49% for Cuomo, within the margin’s 3 point margin of error.

This as an internal Cuomo campaign survey released Monday had him beating Mamdani by 12 points in the ranked choice voting contest.

“Ultimately elections are about choices and there is no question New York City will be stronger and safer with a competent leader like Andrew instead of someone with a far-left agenda and no experience governing,” Skyler told the pal.

Skyler, a former Republican turned independent, previously eyed running for mayor himself. But he declined after Cuomo entered the race.

A former deputy mayor of operations in the Bloomberg administration, Skyler is concerned about bolstering public safety and boosting economic development.

Former NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg did not mention any of Cuomo’s rivals, including Mamdani and current mayor Eric Adams.Instagram/mikebloomberg

He was floored, a source close to him said, after reading in The Post that Mamdani targeted the Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island for a boycott because of the Ivy League university’s partnership with a leading Israeli tech school, Technion University. Bloomberg approved the high-tech campus to help diversify the Big Apple’s economy.

A pro-Palestinian activist, Mamdani, a state Assembly member from Queens, is a staunch foe of Israel and backs the boycott, divestment and sanctions, or BDS, movement against the Jewish state.

Skyler is just the latest associate of Bloomberg to come off the sidelines to back Cuomo.

Last month, the former three-term mayor’s daughter, Emma Bloomberg, gave the $2,100 maximum contribution to the ex-governor’s political comeback bid.

Bloomberg’s right hand adviser Kevin Sheekey, who ran the billionaire’s 2020 presidential bid and is a top executive at his namesake media company, also donated to the Cuomo campaign’s kitty.

Thomas Secunda — the billionaire co-founder of Bloomberg LP — gave $40,000 to the pro-Cuomo super PAC Fix the City.

Insmed Catapults Into Breakout Territory On A 'Home Run' For Its Rival To United, Liquidia

Insmed (INSM) stock catapulted, breaking out of a consolidation early Tuesday, after the biotech company hit a "home run" with its treatment for pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension, or PAH, is a form of high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. Its symptoms are progressive and can include shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness, chest pain and swelling of the extremities. Insmed's drug is an inhaled powder called treprostinil palmitil.

Insmed's ran its study for 16 weeks and took the final results 24 hours after patients received the drug. Treprostinil palmitil recipients had a 35% greater improvement in pulmonary vascular resistance than patients given a placebo. Pulmonary vascular resistance measures blood flow in the lungs. That was well above expectations for a 20% improvement, RBC Capital Markets analyst Leonid Timashev said in a report.

The treprostinil palmitil group had a 35.5-meter improvement in how far they could walk for six minutes, compared to the placebo group. The six-minute walk is a key test of lung function. RBC's Timashev had expected a lower 20-meter placebo-adjusted improvement.

Insmed Stock Hits A 'Home Run'

The result "comes in as our perceived 'home-run scenario' based on our analysis coming into the readout," he said. "We continue to anticipate a 15-25% upside move."

Similarly, Leerink Partners analyst Joseph Schwartz said the results exceeded his best-case scenario prediction. He says the results clearly differentiate from Tyvaso, another inhaled treprostinil powder from United Therapeutics (UTHR). Tyvaso did $1.6 billion in sales in treatment for PAH and a similar disease called pulmonary hypertension and interstitial lung disease, or PH-ILD.

Tyvaso requires four doses daily and has a "relatively modest" benefit on six-minute walking distance, Schwartz said. Meanwhile, the midstage test results for Insmed's drug suggest it could be a once-daily administration.

He has an outperform rating on Insmed said.

United, Liquidia Stocks Tumble

Insmed stock shot 28.7% higher, closing at 90.93. Shares broke out of a consolidation with a buy point at 84.91.

United Therapeutics stock, on the other hand, slumped 14.3% to 281.36. Shares of Liquidia (LQDA), which gained approval in May for its own inhaled treprostinil powder in PAH treatment, saw shares tumble 16.9% to 14.98.
