United States President Donald Trump called CBS' Norah O'Donnell "a disgrace" during a "60 Minutes" interview for reading parts of the manifesto written by the suspected White House Correspondents' Dinner shooter.
Trump's comments came after O'Donnell read an excerpt from the suspect's writings in which he said he's "no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes." The journalist then asked Trump for his reaction to the passage, which didn't mention him by name.
"I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you're horrible people," Trump told O'Donnell. "I'm not a rapist. I didn't rape anybody," he said. "I'm not a pedophile. You read that crap from some sick person? I got associated with all stuff that has nothing to do with me. I was totally exonerated," Trump added.
Officials warned New York and New Jersey commuters not to take Ubers or use mass transitduring the World Cup— but had no problem plugging the outrageous $150 train trip to and from games.

“If you are not attending one of the events, please if possible, work from home — because the city will be incredibly congested and so will New Jersey,” Garcia said at a Thursday news conference.
The director then put Ubers and illegal taxis on notice as well, declaring that they won’t serve as an alternative to the overpriced NJT trains.

NJT tickets just to get to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey from New York City are expected to cost roughly $150 round trip — a fare that is 775% higher than the usual $12.90.
But the advisory comes as transit officials across the region scramble to handle what is expected to be an unprecedented surge in ridership, with MetLife Stadium serving as the host venue for some of the tournament’s biggest matches, including the final.
World Cup matches slated for June 22 and June 30 are also expected to wreak havoc as travel times for the games overlap with rush hour, and NJT officials have already urged residents to avoid commuting unless they’re attending a game or event.

New Jersey officials anticipate that around 40,000 fans will use mass transit for each match, while the NJ Transit section of Penn Station — a main transit hub for riders in the city, Long Island, and New Jersey — is expected to be closed to anyone not attending the World Cup for four hours before each game and for three hours after.
“The back and forth is just going to be tough,” Garcia explained.

Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) wrote on social media that she is “grateful the President and all the guests from last night’s event are safe, and no one was seriously injured,” adding that “political violence has no place in America.”
RNC Research shared her X post, pointing out that she’s called the president an “existential threat to democracy,” and blasting her for her choice of language that is “inciting violence” against President Trump and Republicans.
Failed 2024 vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, also the embattled outgoing governor of Minnesota,put out a cookie-cutter statementthat “political violence has become all too prevalent in America.”
“No one has ever been more dangerous to this country than Donald Trump, and he is a fascist to his core,” he said during a campaign rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 2024.
In response to the attack, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), issued a statement saying only that he was “monitoring the unfolding situation” at the gala and that he was “grateful” for the work of law enforcement.

Iran has submitted a three-phase negotiation framework to mediators, proposing a return to talks with the United States, Al Mayadeen reported.
During the first phase, the two sides would only discuss mechanisms to end the war, as well as securing guarantees for Iran and Lebanon that hostilities would not resume. The talks would then move to the second stage only if there is an agreement. Joint management of the Strait of Hormuz with Oman would be discussed in the second phase, while the issue of Iran's nuclear program would only be raised later.
Tehran has not officially commented on the report.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Sunday that it had received a report of "unauthorized persons" taking control of a cargo vessel near Somalia.
The ship has been "re-directed to within territorial waters," the UKMTO said, noting that the incident took place six nautical miles northeast of Garacad, a coastal town in Puntland, northeastern Somalia.
The notice, which didn't name the ship, also urged vessels to transit with caution due to the "increased threat" of Pirate Action Group (PAG) activity.
