Alibaba Group Holding's US-listed shares fell 5% in premarket trading after a report said the Trump administration could add the company to a Pentagon list of firms alleged to support China's military.
Earlier, Reuters reported that the move could come as soon as Friday and would place Alibaba on the Defense Department's so-called 1260H list, which flags companies accused of links to the Chinese military.
Minutes after the news broke at 8:22 am ET, Alibaba ADRs were down 4.45% to $151.50.
