Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took to X on Wednesday to announce that talks between the United States and Iran will go ahead as planned.
"Nuclear talks with the United States are scheduled to be held in Muscat on about 10 am Friday. I'm grateful to our Omani brothers for making all necessary arrangements," Araghchi wrote. The confirmation comes after Axios reported today that the negotiations were canceled due to the Iranian side's refusal to engage in non-nuclear issues.
Following Araghchi's post, Axios reporter Barak Ravid cited two senior American officials who said the talks were back on track after several Arab and Muslim leaders applied urgent pressure on the Trump administration on Wednesday afternoon not to carry out threats to withdraw.
