OPEC: Global growth forecast stable at 3.1%

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) estimated in its monthly report on Wednesday that the global economy will grow by 3.1% in 2026 and 3.2% in 2027, unchanged from the previous month. Forecasts for individual countries also remained unchanged, with the US expected to grow 2.2% in 2026, the Eurozone by 1.2%, and China by 4.5%.

"While current geopolitical developments require close monitoring, sound growth in the United States, India, and China is projected to remain a key driver of global economic expansion in 2026," the report said. OPEC pointed to the US Supreme Court striking down the Trump administration tariffs as "likely supporting the global trading system and hence providing a positive impulse for the world economy." It added that the fiscal stimulus measures in China, Japan, Germany and India will also provide a boost to growth.
