Netanyahu: Israel acted to stop Iran nuclear threat

 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was compelled to act against Iran to prevent a nuclear threat, in a video published by the Prime Minister's Office on Sunday on X.

"This year, we faced a tremendous test. Just over a year ago, it became clear to us that Iran was preparing atomic bombs to destroy us. This is no empty statement, this is no spin," Netanyahu said. "If we hadn't acted with the ferocity of a lioness and the roar of the lion, they would have had atomic bombs, and that would have been the beginning of the end for the Jewish people. We were compelled to act."

The remarks come amid ongoing regional tensions, with Netanyahu saying Israel remains "facing the test" despite strengthening its military and institutions over decades.
