Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday that if the "Coalition of the Willing" sends its troops to Ukraine, they will be "legitimate targets" for Russian forces.
"According to French President [Emmanuel] Macron, plans for the deployment of such forces, which will be stationed away from the front lines, are ready, and exercises will be held in the coming months in European countries bordering Ukraine," Zakharova told reporters at a press briefing. "In this context, we would like to reiterate the unacceptability for our country of the deployment of any military contingents from countries of the so-called 'coalition of the willing' in Ukraine . This, I repeat, would de facto constitute foreign intervention and increase threats to Russia's security. We will view such units as legitimate military targets," she added,
Meanwhile, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov previously claimed that the organization seeks to prolong the conflict in Ukraine by committing "hostile acts" against Moscow.
