The United States Navy-led Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) announced on Monday that US troops will enforce a naval blockade on Iranian ports and vessels on July 14, at 20:00 GMT (3:00 pm ET).
"All neutral vessels are hereby warned and have a period until enforcement begins to depart the blocked area. The blockade encompasses the entirety of the Iranian coastline to include but not limited to Iranian ports and oil terminals. The blockade applies to all vessel traffic, regardless of flag," it was said in a statement.
The US military also listed the Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, the North Arabian Sea, and the Strait of Hormuz. This move comes after US President Donald Trump previously announced that Washington will reinstate the naval blockade on Iran, declaring the US "the guardian" of the Strait of Hormuz.
