The late United States Senator from South Carolina suffered from an aortic "dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease," according to preliminary findings into the cause of his sudden death on Saturday.
On the other hand, the Washington DC medical examiner said the death certificate will be released after toxicological and microscopic tests are completed.
Graham's passing, which occurred shortly after his trip to Ukraine, left an empty Senate seat. US President Donald Trump hinted he already has a candidate to succeed Graham, whom he considered his close ally.
