Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday during a meeting with Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev that relations with Moscow are a priority for the new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
"Strengthening relations with Russia has always been a priority for both the late supreme leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei] and the current one, and Tehran will pursue this approach with the utmost seriousness," the Iranian president stated.
Furthermore, Pezeshkian emphasized that Russia and Iran will strengthen economic and industrial cooperation to "neutralize the effects of pressure and sanctions" and fight against "unilateralists and bullies," in a bid to pave the way for "a more just order in international relations."
