Spain's Interior Ministry ordered the evacuation of Fresnedillas de la Oliva and Robledo de Chavela on Friday as wildfires continued to advance across the Madrid region.
The National Emergency Monitoring and Coordination Centre (CENEM) issued an Es-Alert instructing residents to leave both municipalities due to the evolving fires in the region's southwest. The latest orders brought the number of evacuated municipalities in Madrid to six.
Earlier in the day, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said the government had deployed "all available resources" to tackle the blazes that continue to devastate the country as well as its neighbour France.
