Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova summoned the Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria following a recent drone incident, AFP reported on Saturday, citing the minister's office.
The Bulgarian Ministry of Defense previously confirmed that the drone that crashed into the country's territory this morning is "most likely" a Maya decoy drone widely used by the Ukrainian military.
In addition, Kyiv denied targeting Bulgaria, stressing that Ukrainian officials are in close contact with the Bulgarian authorities in order to clarify the circumstances of the incident. "We can say with certainty that the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not intentionally direct any assets toward Bulgaria," a spokesman for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhii Tykhyi, stated.
