Israel: Reacted to arms theft attempt in W. Bank

 The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed on Sunday that the shooting in the West Bank city of Kiryat Gat occurred in response to a weapon theft attempt.

"A short while ago, a report was received of an attempted theft of a weapon from an IDF soldier at Rimmonim Square in the Benjamin Brigade. The soldier fired at the terrorist, and he was neutralized," the IDF said on X.

The IDF did not specify the group the alleged terrorist belonged to.
