'Khamenei’s office denies his in-law's claim about Pezeshkian resignations'

 

The office of Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei denied as “entirely false” a claim by one of his relatives who quoted him as saying he would accept President Masoud Pezeshkian’s resignation if it were submitted again.

A video released Monday showed senior cleric Mohammad-Bagher Kharrazi, a relative of Khamenei by marriage, saying that Pezeshkian had threatened to resign “28 times” but stopped after Mojtaba Khamenei warned that his next resignation would be accepted.

“In recent days, remarks attributed to the Supreme Leader have circulated on social media, regrettably causing public anxiety and fueling division and discord in society,” Khamenei’s office said.

The statement said the office is the official source for publishing messages, news and other material related to Khamenei, adding that any material published outside this framework is “unauthenticated and cannot be considered accurate.”

“In his messages, including his most recent one, the Supreme Leader has emphasized the need to preserve sacred unity and respect conscientious officials and those serving the Islamic Republic, particularly the esteemed government,” the statement said.

“Material that runs counter to the Leader’s repeated recommendations, creates division and polarization in society, and gives rise to false claims against respected officials serves the objectives of the ill-wishers and sworn enemies of the Iranian nation.”
