The Federal Reserve shared in its latest Beige Book on Wednesday that economic activity expanded modestly across most US Districts since the previous reports, with two reporting moderate growth, three reporting modest growth, and four reporting slight growth. Three Districts reported no significant change.
"Overall, most Districts reported that firms have maintained a positive economic outlook for the coming months. However, expectations tend to be for slight growth, weighted toward manufacturing and burdened by persistent uncertainties," the report showed.
Furthermore, three Districts reported modest employment increases, five noted slight gains, and four saw no significant change, leaving overall employment levels little changed. Price pressures remained elevated, with three Districts describing price growth as robust and eight reporting moderate increases. Of those eight, three said input-price pressures were intensifying or already growing robustly. One District reported modest price growth.
