'29 countries recognize UK's attribution of Iran role in military base plot'

 

The British Foreign Office issued a joint statement Monday from 29 countries, including the United States, recognizing the UK's attribution of Iranian involvement in a September 27 incident at RAF Fairford airbase.

"We recognise the United Kingdom’s attribution of Iran’s involvement in the incident at RAF Fairford on 27 September," the foreign ministers said. The statement also said Britain had concluded that the incident demonstrated Iran’s Revolutionary Guards' willingness to conduct operations abroad through covert networks and proxy actors.

The signatories, including France, Germany, Canada and Australia, condemned Iran's involvement in violent plots, arson, sabotage and cyberattacks. They also cited recent attacks across Europe targeting Jewish communities, Iranian journalists and US interests, and pledged to strengthen cooperation to investigate and prosecute those responsible.
