A Columbia University student-athlete has been arrested for allegedly throwing an unlit Molotov cocktail from his dorm room, according to police.
Javen Jovero, a 22-year-old senior at the Ivy League college, sparked a panic when he filled a plastic bottle with rubbing alcohol and a sock and hurled it from a dormitory on the school’s East Campus on Monday night.

While no one was injured as the makeshift firebomb wasn’t lit, police received multiple 911 calls from worried students around 8:30 p.m.
Jovero — who wrestled for the Lions, according to the team’s website — was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, police said.
The electrical engineering student and Southern California native was later charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, according to police.

“Public Safety and the NYPD responded immediately to the incident and apprehended an individual believed to be involved,” a university spokesperson told The Post.
“This was an isolated incident with no other individuals involved. A full investigation is underway, and the University’s rules and policies will be applied and enforced.”

The disgraced former politician admitted “knowingly” having the vile material — telling authorities that around “two-thirds to three-quarters” of the 1,362 videos in a hidden album depicted child sexual abuse, according to the complaint.
The former councilman — who now works as a dive instructor while living in the Long Island suburb of Floral Park — was buying the criminal content on the messaging app Telegram, the complaint said.
Halloran, who served on the City Council from 2010 to 2013, was booked into the Broward County Main Jail but was in custody at the Federal Detention Center in Miami as of Tuesday morning on two federal child pornography charges.

He was arrested in 2013 alongside then-state Senator Malcolm Smith after being accused of pocketing $20,500 in bribes as part of a scheme to get Smith, a Democrat, on the ballot for mayor as a Republican.
At the time, his lawyer made an unsuccessful 11th-hour plea to try to claim an insanity defense for his client.

When he was in office in Queens, Halloran was known for holding the title of “prince’’ in a pagan order that included public floggings.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford proposed Wednesday that Canada could drop its tariffs on US imports — if President Trump did the same for America’s northern neighbor.

Ford is the chair of Canada’s Council of the Federation, made up of the premiers of the country’s 13 provinces and territories. However, he has no authority to drop tariffs imposed by the federal government in Ottawa.
Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said his government’s response to Trump’s threats is to “Fight. Protect. Build.”
Trump is always “always open to a phone call” with any country that wishes to negotiate tariffs, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday.
The administration has yet to reveal what exactly will go into the global reciprocal tariff package and what countries, if any, will be given exceptions.
Trump initially said his approach will match the rates other countries impose on the US — but later suggested he would be “nicer” than those nations are to the US.
Canada has been one of the countries most impacted by Trump’s ongoing tariff threats.

Before the April 2 announcement, the president threatened the northern neighbor with 25% tariffs if Canada didn’t step up its border security to crack down on fentanyl.
Last month, Ford announced that he was slapping an additional 25% charge on customers in Michigan, Minnesota and New York who receive Ontario energy, but later backed down and apologized to the American people.
